IZMIR, TURKEY
TOUR: P.U.S.H (People, United for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus)
Purpose: ‘Unite & Share’ – The purpose of the tour was to use music to raise local, and global, awareness of the conditions, while uniting, and sharing, in the experience of music, to collaborate and create something that builds community, and tells a story, through the arts
We arrived in Izmir, Turkey, our final stop of the first ‘A Song, A City’ Tour: UK/Europe 2013, on June 28th, 2013.
The purpose of our visit to Izmir, Turkey, was to attend a Conference hosted by the International Federation of Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus, that had the theme ‘Unite & Share’, which is the same theme we use to Co-Write all the Songs over the course of the Tour.
At the Conference, and together with 10 to 15 Youth and/or Young Adults who live with Spina Bifida/Hydrocephalus, we facilitated a music workshop, and Co-Wrote our final song of the Tour, called P.U.S.H (People Unite for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus.
Song: ‘P.U.S.H’ (People United for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus) – A Song inspired by folks, locally and globally, who live with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus, and the power that music has to connect us, and create an opportunity to, together, amplify the voice of the conditions.
